Opening Ceremony 2019

Opening Ceremony 2019

Friday 20th September saw our annual Opening Ceremony for this academic year. Junior and Senior students gathered in the PE Hall to a beautifully decorated hall courtesy of our two SNAs, Avril and Marnie. The theme this year was "CARE", one of our core values. The event coincided with Friendship Week. All students wrote on a post-it a word association with "Care" and one by one students were called up to the front of the hall by George, our school captain, in their class groups to place the post-it on their own poster.

Kacie and Barry provided a lovely rendition of "Stand by Me". Mr Bishop did mc for the event and prefects Daniella, Nedah, Nadine (school captain), and Evan gave their own perception of this core value. Freya, Lendio and David represented 2nd, 3rd and 5th Years and also contributed their thoughts.

The school captains, who represent student voice on the School Event Planning Team, were responsible for getting together student representatives and ensured that everyone was prepared really well. A lovely occasion was enjoyed by staff and students alike.
