Cabinteely Community School

Soccer

About 90 students are involved every year in Association Football in Cabinteely Community School and there are three boys' soccer squads - First Years, Under 15s and Under 19s (all entered into F.A.I league and cups). There is also a girls' football team.

Soccer players use the small all-weather pitch (at the front of the school) and the the big all-weather pitch in Kilbogget Park.

A big well done to both Cabinteely soccer teams for this year. Throughout the year all the lads involved showed tremendous passion and commitment to each other.
The junior team certainly entertained everyone watching along the way. Highlights included an amazing 9 1 victory over Lycee Francais plus a 6 all thriller with local rivals St. Laurences. Unfortunately Castleknock got the better of them in the semi-final but hopes are high that next year the team can go one better and reach the final!!
The first-year team had a great start with 6-1 and 6-4 victories in their group games to progress to a tough away quarter final. The team put in a fantastic performance to win 5-1 and progress to the semi-final. Unfortunately the season was then cut short but with 17 goals in three games the future of football in Cabinteely CS certainly looks bright. We are already looking forward to picking up where we left off when football returns.
