Student Support

Cabinteely Community school employs a full time chaplain, a guidance counsellor, Home School Liaison Coordinator, Behaviour for Learning Teacher who all form the CARE Team along with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator, the principal and the deputy principal.

Within the three key areas of guidance - educational, vocational and counselling - our guidance counsellor provides our students with individual support (personal development), testing and assessment, career-based information, and aptitude information.

Students also explore educational and occupational opportunities, study skills, educational development and subject choices.

The Chaplain is responsible for the spiritual wellbeing of students and staff and makes himself available for one to one sessions with students as well as linking in with classes and year groups.

The Behaviour for Learning teacher works with a small cohort of students who need extra support to manage the demands of school life and meets with students in small groups or individually to work on a variety of aspects of learning, academic, emotional and social.
