The Learning to Learn programme is rolled out at Junior Cycle by the Class Tutor as part of the school’s Wellbeing Programme. It provides students with the cognitive and emotional awareness tools to support them on their journey through the Junior Cycle. The overall purpose of the programme is to create confident, connected and engaged learners.

It places emphasis on the cognitive and emotional awareness that students need to succeed through the Junior Cycle indicators for wellbeing.

The programme is structured so that there is a balance between development of subject knowledge, thinking abilities and key life skills, helping students to understand themselves better in order to succeed in learning and life.

 

Student Learning Team

The student learning Team in Cabinteely Community School is all about giving students a voice with regard to their learning. Many changes in teaching and learning have been introduced due to the work that the Student Learning Team have done. The learning team consists of a small number of students from each year group. The students communicate their thoughts and feelings about ways in which teachers can support them to make their learning experience even better.
