U15 boys secure a spot in the Leinster Champions League

Our U15 boys were in action yesterday ️

The lads qualified for the Leinster Champions League competition after defeating a very strong Oatlands 4-2 on penalties in a tightly contested play-off. 

Oatlands took the lead in the second half but the lads showed their character with an immediate response. Rocco Tansey was composed in the middle of the park and played a clever ball to Cody Flynn on the right. Cody delivered an inch perfect cross right on the head of Wilson Domingos who made no mistake and headed it coolly past the Oatlands goalkeeper.

The lads won 4-2 on penalties when the two sides couldn’t be separated after extra time. Cody, Wilson, Jayden and Gonzalo showed great composure to score theirs while Nate Long was colossal, saving two. He was also brilliant in normal time, sweeping up any danger and proving a safe pair of hands throughout. 

There were great performances all round but man of the match was Callum Maguire, he won everything in the air, was immense and the back and symbolised the spirit of this Cabinteely team. Well done lads, we are very proud of you all ️ #cabinteelycommunityschool #extracurricular #football
